Plan the ceiling
Where, how high.
Room centre
Add the room’s length and width in metres and multiply by 8 for a good diameter in cm. A 2.5 × 2.5 m room suits Ø 40 cm, so one TAMBURO works well in a small bedroom, hallway or study. For larger rooms, use two or three in a row or group.
(L + W) × 8 · = diameter in cm
Over a table
Choose a diameter of about two-thirds of the table’s width: one Ø 40 cm drum suits a table about 60 cm wide or a small round table. Over an island or long table, hang two or three in a row, about 70–80 cm apart. Hang the bottom of the shade 75–90 cm above the tabletop.
Hang 75–90 cm above · about ⅔ of table width
Ceiling height
Where people walk underneath, set the cord so the bottom of the shade is at least 2.1 m (7 ft) above the floor. On ceilings above 2.4 m, add about 7.5 cm of drop for every 30 cm of extra height. Sloped ceilings up to 30° are supported.
