Plan the ceiling
Which size, how high.
Room centre
Add the room’s length and width in metres and multiply by 8 for a good diameter in cm. A 3 × 3 m room suits the Ø 50 cm single light, and a 3.5 × 4 m room the Ø 60 cm three-light. For larger rooms, use several pendants.

Over a table
Choose a diameter of about two-thirds of the table’s width: Ø 50 cm for a table of about 75 cm, Ø 60 cm for about 90 cm. Over a long table or island, hang two Ø 50 cm lights about 90–100 cm apart. Hang the bottom of the shade 75–90 cm above the tabletop.

Ceiling height
Where people walk underneath, set the cord so the bottom of the shade is at least 2.1 m (7 ft) above the floor. On ceilings above 2.4 m, add about 7.5 cm of drop for every 30 cm of extra height.
